Doors open Day September 14th 2024

Penicuik Town Hall and the restored Hearse House in St Mungo’s churchyard were open all day to visitors. The Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project (PHRP) in partnership with the Penicuik Historical Society put together exhibitions in the Cowan Hall on the history of the building and the achievements of the PHRP over the last 6 years .The Penicuik Community Development Trust had their usual open Saturday event in the Town Hall’s Lesser Hall with an exhibition on display about the Heritage Trail .The Hearse House was open and staffed by members of St Mungo’s Church together with Penicuik’s U3a. Heritage Trail leaflets were given out and visitors were encouraged to walk the trail taking in the 6 heritage panels in the town . 75 people attended and feedback was very positive.
