Penicuik High Street Public Realm Improvements continue after the festive break

11th January 2019

The improvement work started last October in Penicuik High Street as part of the Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project will now continue after the festive break. The contractor for the scheme , Noel Regan and Son , Building and Civil Engineering Solutions will be starting back this week with pavement improvements at the top end of Bridge Street . The contractors compound has been moved away from the High Street to minimise disruption to the traders. The South Kirk Church in West Street has kindly agreed to accommodate the contractors compound in their rear car park area. Once the improvements to the top end of Bridge Street are complete the contractor will then move into the High Street to widen the pavements on the south side of the road , repave in natural yorkstone paving flags and granite setts in the service and car park layby areas. The last phase of the work will be the resurfacing of the road itself . It is anticipated that the scheme will be complete by mid March
