Penicuik Historical Society visit Historic Environment Scotland’s Archive

The Penicuik Historical Society together with the PHRP visited Historic Environment Scotland’s archive in Edinburgh on the 7th October 2019. Neil Fraser and his colleaques were very helpful explaining the work of the archive team – conserving , recording and storing a huge collection of unique and valuable drawings , documents , photographs and artifacts that are important to the history and heritage of Scotland .

They laid out a number of items that were particularly relevant to Penicuik which were extremely interesting.In discussions there were a number of issues that that the Historical Society found useful in relation to their collection at Penicuik Town Hall . Future engagement and collaboration will take place to help the Historical Society conserve and develop their collection.
