19-20 The Square Penicuik Improvements

The grant aided improvements to 19-20 The Square Penicuik are nearly complete . This included reslating the roof , stone repairs and repointing in a lime based mortar, new timber sash and case dormer windows and improvements to the shopfront.The original ceramic Buttercup Dairy tiles that were found broken on the site have been carefully restored and placed on the stallriser together with new green ceramic tiles to match the original. The old Buttercup Dairy shopfront dated from the early 1930’s to the late 1940’s .
