Carved stone over the main archway,Pilkington buildings

There is a carved stone over the main archway fronting Bridge Street which is much eroded due to weathering and the carving has become difficult to read but with careful examination it says “Park End”.As part of the restoration work to the building it was agreed that this should be re carved on a new piece of stone to match the original . This is now being put in place.
