Edinburgh Traditional Building Festival

The Project Manager for the Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project(PHRP) is a member of the Edinburgh Traditional Building Forum and helped with some of the events that the Forum organised as part of the Edinburgh Festival this year . The Forum organised a number of seminars, workshops and demonstrations on traditional building skills , ie Lime render, roof lead and slating work,stone masonry sash and case window repair , painting and plastering and energy efficiency of traditional buildings.

The PHRP will be bringing some of these demonstrations and seminars to Penicuik , focusing on the traditional buildings of the town and the need to care, repair and enhance them using the correct methods and materials . It is hoped that the project will have a training provider in place to assist with the delivery of these events in the next month.
