Exhibition in Penicuik Town Hall on the Heritage Trail

7th June 2023

The Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project (PHRP) has set up a working group to develop The Penicuik Heritage Town Centre Trail . A grant has been secured from the Government’s Place Based Investment Fund to restore the old Hearse House in St Mungo’s Churchyard  to act as a base for the Heritage Trail . It is proposed  that an exhibition be erected in the restored building about the history and heritage of the town and together with 5 interpretative panels located in key positions in the town centre will give local residents and visitors a fascinating glimpse into Penicuik’s unique history and heritage. The proposals will be on display in Penicuik Town Hall on Saturday morning on the 10th and 17th June as part of Penicuik Community Development Trust’s open Saturdays . The recent project newsletter will be available with a short questionnaire asking for comments and feedback on the proposals .
