Heritage Heroes

The Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project as part of it’s training and community engagement plan is undertaking the Heritage Heroes initiative with pupils from Beeslack School in Penicuik.Our Heritage Hero project today saw an enthusiastic group of first year boys undertaking the task of safe fire lighting to make charcoal drawing sticks. We explored the woodland crafts of the past and their significance. An old brick unearthed lead to a discussion on the brick works that occurred all over the Lothians. What better than lunch by a fire. More heritage fun to follow after half term. Well done to all who took part…and it didn’t rain
