The Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project (PHRP) on site training continues in St Mungo’s churchyard. Students from Penicuik High and Beeslack schools are being given the chance to learn about traditional construction skills by having a hands on experience , repairing some stone boundary walls in St Mungo’s churchyard. The training is over a three week period enabling 18 students to have a go at repairing and repointing some areas of wall that are in poor condition . Craig Frew Conservation Ltd are one of the PHRP training providers and with their experienced stone masons are giving the students expert guidance . During the course of the work some students have been able to visit Penicuik House and met with the stone mason that was involved in helping to consolidate the remains of the house .
