As we find ourselves living in a different way there has been a nostalgia for some of the ways we lived in the past such as weekly shopping in the Penicuik Town Centre. How many know that the Penicuik Storehouse delivered by an amazing team of volunteers occupies the original Co-operative store? The slower ways of personal customer service, providing safe at the door service has been implemented. Food is supplied by local trusted suppliers, with fresh organic veg, flour, meat, bakery goods and dairy all in abundance. Volunteers have demonstrated great talents in the traditional heritage skills of sign writing to market produce. Perhaps for some new avenues to explore as a career. A big cheer to the Storehouse for supporting the community and adapting very quickly to the current restrictions. Please support the Storehouse team and your local heritage high street.
