The first meeting of the Penicuik Town Hall Steering Group took place on April 9th 2019 at the Town Hall , about 15 people attended.
The main aims and objectives of the group are to:
To review the current use of the town hall and the current condition of the building
Assess the building’s importance to the local community and to consider the outcomes from the “Town Hall for All” initiative
Taking the above into account to consider the future uses of the building and future sources of funding
To consider the proposal to commission an Options Appraisal for the building that would examine the possible future uses and income that could be generated to ensure a sustainable future for the town hall
To investigate sources of grant funding to commission an Options Appraisal
Action points from the meeting were agreed and the Group is due to meet again at the end of May 2019
