Shopfront Design Seminar a success….but……

The Shopfront Design seminar held at Penicuik Town Hall on the 30th October was a success in that the 35 people who attended enjoyed the event.Feedback was positive , people felt that Lindsay Lennie the guest speaker gave a very interesting presentation on the evolution of shopfront design in Scotland with some excellent examples of repair and restoration work to historic shop frontages.The three guest sign writers , Charley Chalk ,Tom Tatch and Ross Hastie gave a joint presentation with examples of their work and a demonstration of traditional sign writing which proved to be very popular and well received by those attending the event .The only disappointment was the lack of local shop owners and tenants …it would have been good to see more attending this very informative event.
