Tinker Town proved very popular

18th September 2022

The Tinker Town event held in Penicuik Park over the last three days proved to be very popular . School groups and families were able to get building with real tools, pallets and scrap timber . Some amazing structures were put together , dens , slides, small castles, tunnels and more.Feedback has been very positive, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and no accidents !!!!

On Saturday Tinker Town was joined by Craig Frew Conservation Ltd construction skills demonstrations . Again families were able to have a go at stone carving , sign writing, joinery and tablets and I phones doing 3D modelling and thermal imaging.Approximately 400 people attended over the three days . After the event the scrap timber was taken by the Penicuik Men’s Shed so that it could be reused and recycled.
