Visit from Armagh

On Wednesday , October 26th a delegation from the Armagh Townscape Heritage scheme in N Ireland visited Penicuik . The visit was arranged so that we could learn from one another . The Armagh and Penicuik schemes are both National Heritage Lottery Townscape Heritage schemes aimed at regenerating the historic core of the town . We started off with a welcome and greeting from the Provost of Midlothian Cllr Debbi McCall and then after some presentations we had a walk about looking at what we have achieved in Penicuik town centre. It was great to exchange experiences , many of which were similar , ie the slow down of the economy , the Pandemic effecting the ability to progress certain projects , but looking forward there is alot of enthusiasm and desire to get things done .
